ACGME-I-accredited residency programs in physical medicine and rehabilitation prepare residents to diagnose, evaluate, and manage persons of all ages with physical and/or cognitive impairment and disability. ACGME-I-accredited programs provide educational opportunities for residents to develop competence in diagnosing and treating painful or functionally-limiting conditions, managing associated impairments, performing diagnostic and therapeutic injection procedures and electro-diagnostic medicine, and preventing complications of disability.
